Project 6

I created this synth to sound very eerie and spacey, which was influenced by an old Nintendo game called Metroid which was able to create a mood of emptiness and eeriness using the sounds of the time. I wanted to try to recreate this mood with this synth and i used a simple and open sounding drum beat to enhance this feel.

Project 5

I made a simple drum beat with bongos, snare, bass, claps, and clicks to go with this laid back spacey sounding tune. I used Sytrus to make the synths and the parts I came up use a Ionian Major Scale using C E and G mostly. I had a basic bass sounding part that was just played lower on the keyboard instead of an actual bass. At the end of the song I added a new part which pans back and forth and made a volume envelope to fade everything out at the end.

Project 4

I used two synths, drums, and boo bass in this little song. I used the filter for high and low pass on the first synth and on the second synth I used the x/y controller. The first half sounds pretty funky and the middle section is spacey but I think they flow pretty nicely. The last little bit is mosly a drum solo. Enjoy!

Project 3/ Week 4

This song is sort of like a dance song using two synths made in simsynth. The two synths are transposed one octave from each other but they arent both playing in all sections. I made the drum beats myself and i added some sound effects to make it more interesting. I used panning, volume, cut, and emphasis automations through out the song mostly on the main synth.

Project 2/ Week 3

This song is very ambient and spacey in the guitar and bass. The guitar was a talk box guitar I found and changed in FL Slayer and the bass is the Boobass. I used the FPC for the drums but I only used two different beats because I felt that drums weren't very important in the song. The guitar is usually transposed one octave up from the bass. To make the riffs I used various chop patterns. Enjoy!

Project 1/ Week 2

This drum loop is influenced heavily by punk drumming that I am a huge fan of so I raised the tempo to 180 bpm. The intro is a little two measure fill that reminded me of something Travis Barker (favorite drummer!) would do. It goes into a variation of a typical rock beat that ends with a fill between toms and snare that is just sixteenth notes and eighth notes. The second beat is similar but uses a floor tom instead of a hi hat then has a fill that is para-diddles between three different toms. The song goes into two more beats influenced by Fall Out Boy with no real fills in between, only variations of the pattern. It then ends with a crash to snare section with the snare going from one hit to two in the second time then ends with a crash. I also put a roll at the end on toms to show the end because I hear that in songs a lot and I really like it. All the sounds I used were in the Real Drumkit in the Legacy pack.
